This special issue seeks to explore the following:

  • How non-Western contexts shape and are shaped by practices of social and environmental responsibility.
  • The interplay between local traditions and global standards in addressing socio-ecological issues.

We welcome conceptual and empirical papers that provide new insights, challenge existing paradigms, and bring to light the diverse ways of understanding and implementing responsibility in different contexts of the ‘Global South’.
